Winter SOLO Finds its First Geo Cache

IMG_0693Hidden at the southern portion of Stony Brook Park, this Geo Cache site illuminated interesting archaeological remains of a colonial mill site. Just a few paces north of Cain’s Pond, the Cain’s Pond Dam Geo Cache was worth downloading and discovering. The stone ruins date back to the early 1700s as a site for the “Middle Iron Works.”

After signing the log, the group extracted a modest token from the cache and left behind a Suffield Academy key chain. Everyone agreed that it was like looking for treasure. Click here to learn more about Geo Caching: http://www.geocaching.com/videos/#cat=cat:newbies&vid=-4VFeYZTTYs
