“Write like a Champion”

Test prep sources provide important tactics to use in order to perform well on the AP English Exam.  The obvious tactic to approach the test in the spring is to practice similar questions that would appear on the exam.  Elaborating upon this tactic and concept according to “Peterson’s AP English Language and Composition” is to “stick to a routine and a plan” (2).  Preparation for the test is as important as the actual act of taking the test, due to these types of time-constrained tests, stress test-takers out.  Stress is one obstacle faced that can be avoided and contained by having a routine that allows oneself to refocus and calm themselves down.  Another aspect of preparation that can be influential upon one’s success is acknowledging one’s strengths and weakness prior to the test.  This is illustrated in “Peterson’s AP English Language and Composition” through its explanation of this preparation allows for efficient use of time spent studying for the test.  One’s time can be prioritized towards their weaknesses and lessen the amount of time spent to improve your strengths that are already well developed.  Many have found that preparation is a key aspect of a test-takers success.
