Great Season Opener

Suffield Academy Girls Varsity Tennis versus Miss Porter’s School April 3, 2013

We traveled to Farmington and passed by some of Connecticut’s treasures on the Freedom Trail. 19th century Farmington’s homes facilitated so many on the Underground Railroad that historians call these preserved homes the Grand Central Station. http://www.farmingtonhistoricalsociety-ct.org/freedomtrail.html

Miss Porters was an excellent host and had hot chocolate and other snacks to help battle the cold weather. The matches contained some strong moments where we are trying to scrub the cob webs off of our groundstrokes this early in the season. Battling a severe cold in doubles, Lexi contained her errors in singles and maximized her ground strokes to finish her match on a strong technical note. The whole team exhibited great effort throughout each game and supported teammates on all the courts. We now look forward to hosting Westover next Wednesday.
