This painting entitled, “The Persistence of Memory” is by Salvador Dalí. He captivates his audience by presenting a sense of loneliness and alienation. He paints a distorted head-like creature in the center of the painting with four different clocks around it, three of which, seem to be melting. The figure seems to have its eyes closed, like it’s sleeping. He is trying to tell us that he is determined to have his memory retained even if time is slowly melting away close by.
