She’s The Man’s Connection to Twelfth Night

In the movie She’s the Man, Olivia falls in love with Viola who is disguised as her twin brother. In the play Twelfth Night, written by Shakespeare, Olivia falls in love with Cesario, who is actually Viola in disguise. In both scenarios, Olivia has fallen in love with the wrong person because little does she know that the men she has fallen for are in reality girls. In both situations as well, Duke Orsino is in love with Olivia, but no matter how hard he tries to make her fall for him, she has no interest in him. However, at the end of the movie, everything works out for the better because Olivia finally wins Duke over as Viola wins the real Sebastian over.
