The Dark Lady

In Michael Woods’ documentary, Shakespeare’s life gets exposed very specifically; we learn things about him that we did not know before hand. Shakespeare’s family was not very well liked by the Queen, because the Queen was protestant and Shakespeare’s family were filled with devout Catholics. The Queen also did not like the Shakespeare’s family because the dad sold wool illegally. Shakespeare did not end up liking the Queen as he grew older, so he did what he knew best: He wrote about it. He wrote sonnets called the Dark Lady, which portrayed his displeasure towards her.
