Queen Elizabeth I in “Shakespeare in Love”

As the most powerful woman, Queen Elizabeth appears in poker face and stiff costume and speaks and acts like a tough man. In the movie, when Queen Elizabeth is returning from the theater, she doesn’t mind stepping into the dirty water. Moreover, she is surprisingly tolerant with the fact that Viola disguises as man in order to act in the theater. There is a connection between Queen Elizabeth and the female characters in Twelfth night. They all share strong characteristic.
