One of the most controversial motifs found in Plath’s poetry is the frequent allusions to the Holocaust. In two of her most famous poems, “Lady Lazarus” and “Daddy”, she compares her plight to that of those in concentration camps. Many critics have called into question the appropriateness of her use of these metaphors.
