Little Things

Elizabeth Bishop’s parent’s were a very important part of her life and affected her a great amount. Her father died from Bright’s disease, which, as a result, left her and her mother devastated. Her father’s death affected her mother so much that afterwards she suffered from constant anxiety attacks and nervous breakdowns. These attacks and breakdowns heavily impacted Elizabeth and forced her to become more independent at a younger age because her mother was unable to give her the attention she required.
